One of the better online sportsbooks that flies under the radar is WagerWeb. Founded in 1994, this is one of the earliest online sportsbooks to hit the web and has since been a steady, solid option for online bettors. Based in Costa Rica, this sportsbook has (somewhat) recently revamped their look and now has a very attractive design. On top of that, they offer great bonuses, fast payout speed and a wide range of online gambling options.

Pros
  • 50% Cash Bonus Up To $1000
  • Can receive reduced juice
  • Fast payouts; lots of free payout methods (checks, bank wire, Bitcoin)
  • Plenty of live betting options
  • Bitcoin deposits, withdrawals accepted
Cons
  • High rollovers for bonuses
  • Less than 100 slots in the casinos
  • Don't spend as much on marketing as competitors

As the years have gone by, WagerWeb has improved and adapted to earn themselves a lot of loyal customers. Their outstanding reputation has helped them jump up to the top of the list of many online sportsbook critics. With a strong customer service team and with lots of good feedback from their customers, is very intelligent, they provide a really good option for those looking to open up a new sportsbook account. Let’s dive into our WagerWeb review and go over all of the finer details to really get under the hood:

Deposit Bonuses and Ongoing Bonuses

If you’re wondering what is it that stands out about this sportsbook versus everyone else, it’s the bonuses and bonus options. Not only is it the quality of the bonuses themselves that WagerWeb offers, it’s also the fact that they give you a choice (variety). The following are three different sign-up bonus options that WagerWeb Sportsbook offers to their new players:

  • Welcome Bonus: 50% in cash or 75% for free play to go along with a 15x rollover requirement.
  • High Roller Bonus: 20% cash or 30% free play to go along with a 10x rollover requirement.
  • Elite Bonus: 10% cash bonus or 15% free play bonus with 8x rollover. There are no online gambling restrictions on this cash bonus, and you can get 1% cash back each Monday as a free play.

Each bonus that WagerWeb offers requires a deposit of at least $100. What we didn’t love is that it’s not clearly laid out what the maximum bonus amounts are. From what we gathered from customer service, the maximum bonus is $500.

The good news here at WagerWeb you have a few options to work with and in each case, we always recommend going with a cash bonus over the free play. Beyond that, you’re looking at different rollovers for each bonus, so that’s the main difference. All of the WagerWeb Sportsbook rollovers are much higher than we’d like to see, which is the downside here. Even 10x rollover is considered high. However, we do like the flexibility and we especially like the third option, which comes with a weekly 1% cash back on sportsbook volume.

The third option is their Elite Bonus, which is a terrific offer as it is the lowers bonus rollover and there aren’t any betting restrictions. The best part about the Elite offer is the 1% cash back on sports bets, which gets paid out in the form of free play every Monday. which can basically make your lines -99 instead of -100. As a reminder, this is 1% cash back on the total sportsbook volume of your plays – whether you win or lose – and not just 1% cash back on your losses. As far as we see, almost no other sportsbook offers this.

One other really cool bonus that WagerWeb offers is their 10th Time Is A Charm bonus. How this bonus works is if you deposit nine times in a row at WagerWeb without ever requesting a payout, you’ll get your 10th deposit on the house. To calculate this bonus amount, what they’ll do is average out numbers of your previous deposits and then that becomes your 10th deposit.

For example, if you deposit $100, $200, $200, $200, $500, $400, $400, $400 and $200 on the first nine times you made a deposit at WagerWeb, they would take the average of those and give you $288.89. We haven’t seen this type of a cash bonus or play bonus at any other online sportsbook. Of course, hopefully you all are players who do some winning along with the losing so that you aren’t always making a deposit each time without getting a payout, but it’s nice to know that they’ve got your back if you’ve had a string of bad beats with this 10th deposit promo.

How Do I Withdraw Money from WagerWeb?

Sports bettors should know that WagerWeb Sportsbook is outstanding at their payouts. They run this department like a well-oiled machine. They make withdrawing very easy to do and you can withdraw funds with the exact same methods that you deposited with save for credit card.

WagerWeb Withdrawal Methods
Bitcoin
Cashier's Check
Bank Wire
Sportsbook Transfer
Person-to-Person

You’re able to get one free payout per calendar 30 days. Check withdrawals are between $500 to $3000, Person-To-Person is $100 to $300 and Bank Wires are $3,000 to $10,000. It’s nice that they give you the free bank wire withdrawal as most betting sites only offer crypto or check as their method of free payout.

In terms of payout speed at WagerWeb, Bitcoin is typically your best bet for payouts as it’s not only the fastest method (payouts come same-day), it’s also a method that doesn’t have fees. You can always use Bitcoin for a free payout. The amount per withdrawal is from $100 to $3,000.

Overall, we’re really happy with what’s offered here at WagerWeb Sportsbook and the payout speed. There are a number of ways to get payouts and a number of ways to do it without fees.

Wagering Limits At WagerWeb

WagerWeb Sportsbook holds lower online gambling limits because their main focus is for recreational sports bettors. Usually, professional players might use this as an out (one of the many places they’ll bet) but it’s not their only option. This is mostly a sportsbook for recreational players who are looking to have some fun. To give you an idea, here’s what their limits looking for NFL:

  • Spreads: $5,000
  • Moneylines: $4,000
  • Totals: $3,000

The majority of other top sports leagues have their max bet at $3,000 on spreads and moneylines and the maximum for smaller markets are usually topped off between $2,000 and $1,000. For most bettors, this is going to be adequate. Also, you can usually enter in multiple bets, so even if the max bet is at $3,000, you can place a couple to hit $6,000 if that’s what you’re looking for.

WagerWeb Sports Betting Experience

At WagerWeb you will be able to find lines on each of the major US sports leagues such as the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAA Basketball, and College Football. Along with that, WagerWeb has sections for Tennis, Golf, MMA, Boxing, NASCAR and more. This sportsbook also covers basketball and soccer leagues in different countries which speaks a lot too their determination to offer a large variety of bets. Out of all of those different leagues though, WagerWeb stars in their soccer coverage. They allow you to bet on some of the most prestigious leagues from around the world such as the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A just to name a few. They also hold lines for some lesser known leagues that you probably have never even heard about.

In terms of bet types, WagerWeb Sportsbook has a wide variety of sports, moneylines, totals, and standard spreads to go along with their teasers and parlays to further enhance the player experience.

Wager Web also has grown their Esports section greatly in the past few months and we like to see that. This is a growing segment and if you’re looking to bet on things like League Of Legends, DOTA 2, NBA2K, Madden, Rocket League, FIFA and more, they’ve got lines up for you here.

Taking a look at some of the more exotic stuff, WagerWeb does have politics and entertainment markets, which is not something they used to offer. This section has taken a decent jump forward as well.

This sportsbook is always adapting and evolving for their customers to offer the best coverage they can find. Each of their markets are constantly updated, which shows their determination to make the betting experience as great as it can be for the customer. They are clearly aware of what their players are looking for and have been able to get something for everyone.

WagerWeb Live Betting

Another great highlight about WagerWeb is their live betting section. Many other live betting sections on other competitors can be extremely confusing and clustered at times but WagerWeb is different. They have everything laid out very neatly and their betting menu is easily expandable or easily hidden by sports depending on your choosing which should make it simple to keep an eye on all available lines.

In terms what’s available, you’ll find betting lines on all of the major sports. Every single NFL game is on the board every week for live betting, as well as NBA, NHL and MLB. They’re really focused on improving this on a regular basis to offer more and more. When we see things like esports up on the board for live betting, we know that they’re doing a really good job of covering the basis.

Quality of Odds

The betting lines that WagerWeb offers are very competitive. This sportsbook doesn’t provide reduced juice but we’ve looked over their betting lines and realized that they compare very well to other competitors. They offer dime lines for baseball, which is crucial for volume bettors who are focused on long-term profit.

One vast improvement that WagerWeb has made over the past couple of years is the time that they take to release their odds. WagerWeb used to have a reputation of being one of the slowest betting sites in the industry but luckily that is no longer the case.

WagerWeb Mobile Betting Review

WagerWeb Mobile

Mobile betting is becoming more and more popular as time goes on due to its convenience. WagerWeb is outstanding when it comes to their mobile betting site as you can very easily place bets on your phone or tablet as their site is optimized whether you’re using an Android or Apple device. The quality on their site also has zero drop off in efficiency and you don’t even have to download anything.

How it works is WagerWeb has created an optimized site for mobile. When you visit WagerWeb through your mobile browser, it’s going to look and feel as if you’re in an app. The website will automatically realize that you’re using a mobile device and then responsively adjust to your screen size. They’ve specifically worked hard on that feature, so that the website works fluidly no matter what device you’re on.

WagerWeb has also done a fantastic job at organizing their mobile site to optimize it for sports bets. Some competitors force you to turn your phone into landscape mode in order to use their site and some even have trouble showing with layout. Luckily, WagerWeb is fully optimized for mobile and you can accomplish the same things as you would from the desktop site. Whether you’re looking to browse the moneylines and totals, place bets or dive into some in-game betting, it’s all available to you.

The only downside of the WagerWeb mobile version is that it does not boast a search function.

This is something that comes in very handy when on smaller screen and searching for a specific sport or event. However, this is minor and the overall betting experience remains the same and we still recommend it.

WagerWeb also makes live betting work on their mobile site as well, which is incredibly important as players game more and more on the go. We tested this out across several major sports and found it to be pretty good. It wasn’t lacking compared to their desktop version of live betting.

WagerWeb Casino and Racebook Review

If you’ve had your fill of fun in the sportsbook and are looking to get a taste of the action in the casino. WagerWeb does offer that option to you. It’s pretty common these days that betting sites offer a casino side-by-side with the sports product, but the question is how good is the casino?

Overall, WagerWeb has a pretty good casino that will satisfy most, but the selection here is below par in our view. Taking a look at the slots, for example, they have less than 100 games. There are some casinos like Pinnacle Sports that have more than a thousand, so if that’s important to you, you should consider other casinos. We’d say the industry standard or average is about 200 or 250. That’s why 84 is on the light side. In reality, you probably won’t play more than a few games but regardless, it’s our job to just review the offering and tell it like it is.

In terms of the table games, they do a little better here as they offer 25 different options. This is not bad as the average is about 40-50, but it’s still on the lighter side. Maybe they’ll continue to add to the casino over time but that’s what it is right now. On top of that, they also have 26 different types of video poker. This selection is actually pretty good as some casinos offer 10 games or less. This is the one area where they stand out above the crowd a little bit. Taking a look at the games they offer, we’re looking at:

Casino Games Offered

  • Roulette
  • Blackjack
  • Craps
  • Sic Bo
  • Pontoon
  • ThreeCard Poker
  • Pai Gow Poker
  • Casino War
  • Casino Hold’em
  • Caribbean Stud
  • Jacks Or Better
  • Tens Or Better
  • Jokers Wild

In terms of the graphics and game play, we’d give this a solid B-. Is this the best casino we’ve seen? No. Is it the worst? Definitely not. Overall, the casino looks fast and the games play smoothly (no lag) but the graphics could be a little better.

One important thing to mention is that WagerWeb DOES have a live dealer casino. If you read a lot of WagerWeb reviews, you’ll see that they point out that they don’t have these games and they knock them for it. However, this is something new that they’ve added. Their Live Dealer games include:

  • Blackjack
  • Roulette
  • Baccarat
  • Super 6 (Baccarat)

A lot of players look for Live Dealer games because it gives you an opportunity to play with a real, live human being rather than just playing with the computer. Often times, the dealer is in a live casino in Las Vegas or Atlantic City or somewhere in Europe. That kind of gives you the taste of being there. WagerWeb didn’t offer any live dealer gaming for a long time but we’re happy to see that they have them now.

One interesting thing that we did find in their casino was their virtual racebook. These are racing sims generated by BetSoft and DGS, and you can watch the races at any time and bet on them.

WagerWeb Casino Bonuses

WagerWeb hooks up casino players with the same bonuses as a bove, so you can take advantage of the Welcome Bonus, the Highroller Bonus or the Elite Bonus. However, one big difference is that they also give you cash back on your casino action.

WagerWeb gives its players back 5% of their casino losses each and every week. That’s just free cash that’s put into your account every single week and there are no rollovers or restrictions. That’s actually pretty sweet as it is an ongoing bonus for the life of your account. While many online sportsbooks might give you a big bonus up front if you play in the casino, that number will pale in comparison to this if you bet even for a couple of years. While they don’t have a loyalty or VIP program, this kind of works as their rewards program.

One key thing to point out is that the 5% cash back does not apply to any Live Dealer games in the WagerWeb casino.

WagerWeb Racebook Review

WagerWeb has a fairly well-stocked racebook that covers over 50 North American tracks. Everything from harness racing to thoroughbreds is covered here. Best of all, they offer 5% rebates on horse racing volume. That means you’ll get 5% back on your money on all of your horse racing action in total – not just your losses. Let’s say you bet $100 on the Kentucky Derby and win your bets, you’ll get your winnings plus another $5 (5%) based on the volume you had that week.

Looking at the bet types, they have all of the standard stuff here. You are able to bet on different markets such as the twin trifecta (Pick 4’s, 5’s, 6’s) but superfectas are not offered. The minimum bet for the racebook is only $2.

Customer Service Review

WagerWeb’s customer service is pretty good all around. They have multiple toll-free phone numbers for different sections of their company as well as email support. They are available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year. One thing we were a bit disappointed with is that they don’t offer live chat as a method of contact. And while many of their competitors offer customer service on social media like Twitter, WagerWeb does not. The good news is they’re very responsive through the methods they have available, so it’s not really a concern.

WagerWeb Sportsbook does hold a good reputation when it comes to the protection of their customers information. They take a very cautious approach to keep all transactions and personal movements very private. All of your payment and withdrawal request are done in real time through a very safe, encrypted server. If you still aren’t sure how safe your information is, WagerWeb uses a top of the line SSL encrypted software from Action Sportsbook International (ASI) that is widely approved as the standard in the industry for transaction security.

WagerWeb History

WagerWeb Sportsbook began to fully operate in 1997 in Aruba after it was initially established in 1994. They have since moved over to Costa Rica after the creation of BetCBS.com, which ended up being renamed as WagerWeb back in 2004. WagerWeb has zero country restrictions but the majority of their player base comes from the Unites States. This sportsbook also has a casino, racebook, and an Esports section which shows how determined they are to make the customers experience the best that it can be.

WagerWeb Review: Final Thoughts

Underrated sportsbook. Generous deposit bonus. Great product. As we conclude our review, we can confidently say that WagerWeb definitely deserves its solid rating. They are a trustworthy and safe sportsbook with a very user-friendly website, good bonuses, and multiple deposit and withdrawal methods. That goes along with their fast and free payout methods and great betting options. They have a very respectable and helpful customer service team even without support offered 24/7. They have a little bit of room for improvement when talking about their racebook and casino, but outside of that, they have earned nothing but four- and five-star reviews from customers. We recommend this online sportsbook for those looking another out and another great online betting site.
